American actor Will Smith commented on the decision of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to ban him from participating in events, including attending the Oscars for 10 years.
“I accept and respect the decision of the Academy,” the artist was quoted as saying by Page Six.
Recall, in late March, Will Smith hit comedian Chris Rock during the 94th Academy Awards, which took place at the Dolby Cinema in Los Angeles. It is reported that Rock announced the contenders in the category of “Best Documentary”. The comedian joked about Jada Pinkett-Smith’s amazing, very short haircut, Will Smith’s wife, comparing the actress to Demi Moore’s character in “Soldier Jane,” where she was shaved. It is known that recently the actor’s wife suffers from alopecia – an autoimmune disease that leads to hair loss. After the joke, Smith got up from his seat, went on stage and hit the comedian in the face.
