Water began to return to the Northern Reservoir on April 21. Prior to that, it was at a minimum level due to the overhaul of the dam, which lasted four months.
According to the authorities, the water will return to normal by May 1, 2022. In October 2021, it became known that the repair of the dam will cost 26.6 million rubles.
At the end of March 2021, the lower part of the Northern Reservoir became shallow due to the break of the dam. The people of Rostov immediately took advantage of the situation and began to collect fish from the bottom. After that, the police opened a criminal case – the participants of the fishing were issued reports for illegal fishing.
