The International Television Emmy Award, held in the United States, refused to consider Russian projects in the competition due to the conflict in Ukraine. Reports about it RTVIwhose film “Amazons of the XXI century” was not allowed to participate.

The executive committee of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which oversees the event, explained to the channel that it excludes programs created in Russia or with Russia’s participation, as well as projects planned to run on Russian TV channels or streaming platforms.

RTVI’s film “Amazons of the XXI Century”, which planned to compete for the award, was not allowed to participate. “We pray for an end to this tragic conflict as soon as possible,” RTVI said in an e-mail from the Academy. “We hope that the situation with the isolation of Russian culture will not reach absurdity and successful projects in Russian will be presented on international platforms,” said RTVI Director General Olga Piven.

Due to Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, international film festivals – Stockholm, Cannes, Venice – have announced a decision to boycott Russian delegations and films related to state funding.

On March 27, the Oscar ceremony was held, for which Russian director Anton Dyakov was nominated. He did not receive a Russian US visa, which is why he was unable to attend the award ceremony.
