The head of Nizhny Novgorod Yuri Shalabayev at the final meeting of the Interfaith Advisory Council under the city administration presented a book “Together and Forever”, which tells about the religions and cultures living in the city, the press service of the city administration.

Opening the meeting, the mayor reminded that 2021 in the field of interethnic relations in Nizhny Novgorod began with the presentation of the photo exhibition “LIVE. BELIEVE. FRIENDS IN NIZHNY NOVGOROD ”, which was created together with representatives of Orthodoxy, Islam, Judaism, Catholicism, Protestantism and Old Believers, who provided photos about the life of their communities. The photo exhibition, where you can get acquainted with how services are held and how representatives of various denominations live outside of religious traditions, was exhibited during the year in the city administration building, cinemas, libraries and museums of the city.

“We end the jubilee year for our city with the publication of a book, which was not only the result of joint work of religious, national and cultural organizations and the administration in 2021, but also the result of our true friendship and agreement for many years,” said Yuri Shalabayev. “On its pages, the reader will get acquainted with the representatives of religions and cultures who live in Nizhny Novgorod, with their traditions and even culinary secrets.”

Yuri Shalabayev thanked the participants for their joint work and presented commemorative medals in honor of the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod and representatives of religious and national-cultural organizations that took an active part in the work of the council and implementation of the Comprehensive Plan for Development and Strengthening of Interethnic Relations in Nizhny Novgorod. cities.

As previously reported, the Interfaith Advisory Council chaired by Mayor Yuri Shalabayev operates in Nizhny Novgorod.
