Filming for the final season of “The Walking Dead” is over, and the actors, crew and fans said goodbye to AMC’s long-running zombie hit. Norman Ridus wrote on social media:
11 seasons 12 years. It had never been so depressed, and it was an absolute explosion. Thank you to everyone who went with us on this trip, and it was an unforgettable trip.
Greg Nicotero, who filmed the finale of the series “The Walking Dead”, shared an emotional farewell to Ridus on social media. “Remember when we had short hair?” Nicotero joked.
Christian Serratos, who plays Rosita in the series, wrote in her story: “I already miss the woods. I love my family “The Walking Dead“Paola Lazaro, who played the Princess, told Insider about the final filming:”I think we’re all tired physically, but we’re just sad to say goodbye to each other – with the film crew, the actors, everyone behind the scenes. I’m sad that I don’t wear my coat, my pink jacket anymore. I fell so in love with this character“.
While characters, including Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, could come and go, fans remained unchanged throughout the series’ 12 years. They, too, experience the emotions associated with saying goodbye to the Walking Dead.
“I don’t think I’m ready to say goodbye“, – wrote one of the fans on Twitter. Another wrote:”Today marks the end of an entire era. This is the last day of filming #TheWalkingDead, and my heart is not yet ready to say goodbye to this series. Over the years, The Walking Dead has given me so many memories, but most importantly, they gave me a family.“.
The second pack of the 11th season of “The Walking Dead” is currently airing. The final eight episodes are scheduled to air on AMC in 2022, although the release date has not yet been announced.
