The financial issue in the construction of the Russian Art Center in the Fish Village is acute. This was stated by businessman Rustam Aliyev interview to the Royal Gates magazine.
“The issue of finance is acute. A ton of white cement costs 24,000, ordinary cement is four times cheaper. I bought fittings for 35,000-40,000, now 110,000-115,000 per ton and so on. Of course, the budget is increasing. In addition, I suffered financial losses related to sanctions against Russia, the freezing of Eurobonds of Russian companies. Today, these papers are worthless. I think what to do, how to cut costs. But in my case, it means simplifying what I set out to do. I do not want to simplify. The task is to complete the facility, not to freeze it, ”the businessman said.
According to Rustam Aliyev, the project of the museum was made taking into account the supply of European equipment – elevators, ventilation, air conditioning, boiler room. “I am not ready to say how to replace it now. It’s really scary, there are things that can no longer be redone – the configuration of elevators, for example. Such moments can seriously delay the commissioning period, “said the businessman.
He admitted that due to new financial circumstances, the idea was to reduce the number of storeys in the building, but the businessman refused it. “I read an interview with the director of the Tretyakov Gallery Zelfira Tregulova. She says the museum always lacks space if the museum is developing. And I realized that if I think today, simplify, save to make it easier to drive, it’s wrong in the perspective of twenty, thirty or forty years. We must immediately think about how the museum will live after me, after us, “Aliyev said.
