Deadline reports that Netflix’s “Locke and the Key” series will end in its third season. According to journalists, this is exactly the plan the streaming service had from the very beginning.
The closing of the series was confirmed by his showrunners, Carlton Cues and Meredith Averill:
When we first started working on the series, we realized that three seasons is the perfect duration that will allow us to bring the story of the Locke family to a logical conclusion. As storytellers, we are grateful to have had the opportunity to bring to life our version of the incredible story of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez.
At the same time, Netflix has released new footage of the third season:
The plot of the show is dedicated to the magic keys that give owners supernatural abilities. The story is that these keys were found by Nina Locke’s three children – her husband was long gone, and she moved into a family home called the House of Keys.
The series is based on the eponymous comic book series by Joe Hill, son of Stephen King. The exact release date of the third season of the show has not yet been announced. The premiere is expected to take place this fall.
