For the first time in Kazan, a large-scale exposition dedicated to the theme of Azerbaijani carpet weaving, its traditions and modern embodiment will be shown.

The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum (Baku) is the world’s first museum of this profile, with the most complete collection of Azerbaijani carpets, including classic works of carpet art created at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries. Each of them is a sample of one or another regional tradition characteristic of the peculiarities of ornament, color and techniques.

The art of Azerbaijani carpet weaving, included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010, is still flourishing, constantly enriching itself with new approaches, but without losing ancient traditions. This circumstance unites the traditional Azerbaijani carpets and author’s works of Chingiz Babayev, who works under the creative pseudonym Chingiz, presented at the exhibition.

In the documentary accompanying the exhibition, Chingiz will share with the audience the secrets of the creative process, talk about the philosophy of the traditional carpet.

Kazan cycle girl “1000 and 1 night” (16+)

The exhibition presents paintings by famous artists in an unusual frame. The author of the works is Leyla Darchieva, a motion designer from St. Petersburg, who creates fun and effective creations, reviving masterpieces of world painting. Her animated works could be seen at Eurovision-2021.

More than 100 famous paintings are presented in 26 halls of the multimedia park, which are transformed into short animated masterpieces thanks to a combination of modern technologies and tools, sound and light.

The first exhibition was held in Kazan in March, it was visited by more than 10,000 people.

II All-Russian street games Urban games (16+)

The opening ceremony of the games will take place at 15:00 on July 10. The Smena Center for Contemporary Culture, together with the Artwin Gallery, is presenting a personal exhibition entitled “Insolation Standards” by gallery artist Dima Rebus, who was born in Naberezhnye Chelny.

“Insolation norms” is the first personal exhibition of Rebus in his native Tatarstan. The exhibition presents works from several series created by the artist over the past 7 years. This project will present both new works by the artist and retrospective series that allow us to trace the evolution of the meaning-forming elements of the universe created by the artist.
