Power engineers of Khabarovsk Generation branch of JSC DGK (part of RusHydro Group) donated 23 copies of the book “Amazing Far East” to the Central City System of Children’s Libraries of Khabarovsk and the Central City Children’s Library named after A.M. Gorky, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk Krai Today reports. Several copies of the book will also be donated to the orphanages of Amursk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
The charity event on the transfer of books opened the “Children’s Book Week” in the libraries of Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
The presentation of the collection “Amazing Far East” took place in the city children’s library named after A. Gaidar with the participation of 40 sixth-graders of the gymnasium № 6 in Khabarovsk. They became not only spectators, but full participants in the creative event.
Trying on the roles of a zoologist, geographer, geologist and other scientists, the students told about the wonders of the Far East and Khabarovsk Krai. And the “Far Eastern shaman” predicted that books would be in great demand.
– We are glad that our next “Children’s Book Week” was opened by such a wonderful event, – commented the director of the city children’s library named after A. Gaidar Galina Migda. – This is not the first time that energy companies in the Far East generating companies have donated to the library wonderful publications in form and content. I am sure that the novelty will be as popular with readers as the previous ones.
The collection “Amazing Far East” is of interest not only to young readers, but to all who are happy with new knowledge about the Far East. Essays for the collection were prepared by children’s writers and scientists from different parts of Russia. The collection is decorated with magnificent photos and illustrations.
The publication, published as part of a joint charity project by RusHydro and the Children’s Book House publishing house, is timed to coincide with the International Children’s Book Day. “The Amazing Far East” is a collection of artistic and scientific essays, stories and research addressed to children and adults. The publication consists of several sections devoted to the territory and climate, plants and animals (including the extinct), the history of development and ethnography of the region.
