Eldest daughter of Bruce Willis Rumer told on Wednesday’s father’s illness: “We as a family wanted to tell Bruce’s wonderful fans that our beloved father had health problems and was recently diagnosed with aphasia, which affects his cognitive abilities,” she wrote on social media, adding that the actor “will give up a career that meant so much to him.”
“This is a really difficult time for our family, and we are very grateful to you for your continued love, compassion and support. We go through this together and want to attract his fans, because we know how much he means to you, as you mean to him. Bruce always says, “Live on,” and that’s what we plan to do together, “said a statement signed by his wife, Emma, his ex-wife, Demi Moore, and all of his children.
Aphasia is an acquired speech disorder that can occur after a brain injury (stroke, head injury, tumor, or inflammatory process in the brain). This disease affects all language skills: speaking, speech comprehension, reading and writing.
Willis, 67, has completed several projects, including Vendetta, Fortress and White Elephant. It is unclear what will happen to “Fortress 3”, which is currently in preparation for filming.
