Boris Grebenshchikov and the band “Aquarium” will continue to give concerts, but with a changed lineup and under a different name. The musician announced this on his social networks on April 24. The band “BG +” will give a series of concerts around the world.
How long “this time” will last – no one knows. But in order not to leave ourselves without concerts, the temporary acoustic ensemble “BG +” will start operating during this period, “Grebenshchikov said.
He noted that he had already performed with such a band in March in London, as part of the only concert in honor of the 50th anniversary of the “Aquarium”. Then Boris Grebenshchikov was accompanied by Konstantin Tumanov on keyboards and accordion, Alexander Titov on bass guitar, Liam Bradley on hand drums and Brian Finnegan on flutes. At the Grebenshchikov concert, for the first time, he publicly named this band “BG +”.
“A series of” BG + “concerts around the world is expected in late May and will continue in summer and autumn,” – said Grebenshchikov fans.
Earlier, the leader of the group “Aquarium” made a statement to suspend concert activities. This is how the band’s musicians reacted to the military operation in Ukraine.
“For obvious reasons, all Aquarium concerts have been canceled until better times,” Boris Grebenshchikov announced on March 10.
