A mobile application has been created in the Northern capital to help teenagers choose books.
The application is planned to be launched in June, the PR service of the Living Classics Foundation, which developed the program, told TASS. We worked on the development for about six months. The creation of the application was made possible thanks to the Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
Currently, the application database includes 400 books, but they plan to expand their number. Emphasis is placed on modern children’s literature. The average age of the target audience is from 14 to 19 years. In the future, it may be interesting to adult readers.
The main goal of the program is to help teenagers choose the right book at a certain point in life. Professional psychologists also took part in the work on the application.
To get a recommendation, users will have to answer a few questions: what kind of hero they want to be, what kind of problems they want to face, and what the hero should come to in the end. Depending on the answers, the application will select three suitable books.
The list of books is going to be constantly updated – for this the developers are collaborating with publishers.
Earlier, the St. Petersburg TV channel reported that there will be a Russian RuStore application store to install on smartphones, tablets and computers.
